Small Giftun Island lies just to the East of Giftun. It is a Marine Reserve now and has a well established soft coral colony. Typically, the dive boats will anchor on the South East tip of the island where the depth is about 25m. The East side can be a bit rough, as the water breaks heavily against the coral reef there.
For most divers it is dive from the dive boat and returning to it, as the 25 metre depth and the soft coral garden is a sufficient pleasant dive. However, for more experienced divers and divers wishing to gain depth, there are a number of options. The plateau drops all the way to 50 metres in the South, allowing you to be dropped of with the RIBs and swim slowly up the plateau into the shallow until you reach the dive boat.
Even technical divers can have a pleasant dive here, due to the sharp drop-offs there is also the option to dive the East Wall (which bottoms out at about 75m) and the South Wall starting at 40m and dropping all the way down to about 100m (according to the boats Sonar).
